Skate-Tec Visor Helmet Short track speed skating helmet PRO VISOR
ST Helmet 025 Pro Visor
Our visor helmet has been developed with safety in mind. The magnetically attached face-shield protects the athlete from incoming blades and aims to prevent serious injuries. The great sizing and fit stays the same.
The visors come in several finishes and colors. Besides the color we also have two sizes for the holes one for smaller faces and one for bigger faces. All visors are coated with our proprietary anti-fog coating.
The helmet is a very light weight construction as well as fully adjustable.
Polycarbonate Visors
Typically, polycarbonate is the most popular material for making visors. You can shape it into virtually any shape. And, more importantly, it has some of the best mechanical, optical and chemical properties.
Properties that are critical for helmet visors:
· Better Light Transmission
A clear polycarbonate transmits over 97% of light. Therefore, all skaters will see opponents, the track markers clearly. Also, it will make it easier to focus on the practice of the sport. Besides, they will not strain at all.
· High Impact Resistance
Isn’t this what every skater is looking for? Assuming you have a visor made of glass – what do you think will happen?
When hit, it will break into very small particles that may enter your eyes, besides causing deep cuts in your skin.
Remember, the broken pieces may cut other skaters.
The good news?
Polycarbonate sheet is impact resistant – it is virtually unbreakable. Honestly, it will require unimaginable force or impact to break it. Even so, it will not break into smaller particles that can either cut or enter your eye.
You see what I am talking about?
That is the safety a skater deserves!
· Easy to Add Other Technologies to Improve Vision
Let me tell you the truth – there is no material that is 100% perfect.
However, the beauty of polycarbonate visors is that you can modify their performance.
What do I mean by this?
Whether you want clear, tinted or mirrored, it’s all possible with polycarbonate material.
Now, what options do you have?
You can add other technologies such as anti-scratch coating, anti-UV coating, anti-fog coating, anti-reflective coating and many more.
It will depend on what you want and how you want the polycarbonate helmet visor to look like.
· Polycarbonate Helmet Visors are Lightweight
Can you imagine hanging a heavy load on your forehead?
Does it look even practical?
Well, it’s not – that’s why you need a lightweight material for your helmet visors.
That makes polycarbonate material a perfect choice for visors due to its lightweight.
In fact, you will not even feel the weight of the polycarbonate helmet visor.
This will give you the opportunity to focus on the practice of your sport.
· Polycarbonate Material is Easy to Clean
You may end up cleaning your helmet visor every day. That should not discourage you. Polycarbonate visors may feature a hydrophobic coating. This coating gives the visor its “self-cleaning” property. That is dirt will fall off the visor surface by itself, thereby reducing the frequency of cleaning the visor.
So:
It’s only polycarbonate material that is suitable for helmet visors. This is due to its excellent properties.
